West Coast swing - beginner Crash Course
Included Free in a Full Event Pass
This is an absolute beginners class for people who have no (or very little) dance experience in West Coast Swing (WCS)!
Or if you’ve danced it before and are feeling rusty, then this class can help you remove the cobwebs from your dance shoes.
What kind of music is WCS danced to?
From Top 40 to RnB to Hip Hop or even to the blues, this dance is perfect to let you get your groove on and enjoy the music you love the most. So, if you're one of those people who cannot stop tapping your foot or swaying to the music you hear on the radio, this is your opportunity to learn how to dance to those beats.
Do I need to bring a dance partner?
No. You can come to this class with or without a partner. The class structure has participants rotating so regardless of whether you bring a partner or attend on your own there will be plenty of people for you to dance with. So, if you don’t have a partner don’t let that stop you from coming, and if you want to invite all of your friends to come and learn with you, that will make it even more fun.
Who is your teacher?
Nathan Toussaint, who has over 25 years of dance experience, and Ely King will teach the Beginners West Coast Swing Crash Course at Best of the Best on Thursday, September 12th, 2024. Nathan and Ely have a wealth of experience in various styles of dance and are highly skilled in teaching them.
What will you learn?
West Coast Swing is a partner dance style that is known for its elasticity. You'll learn the basics of this elasticity, simple patterns, and fundamental footwork of this versatile dance style.

This dance party that is the opening night of the Best of the Best dance weekend is where you will get to experience the thrill and connection that is West Coast Swing.
What can you do next?
